For one of the biggest sporting weekends of 2014, Sony convinced The New Zealand Herald to do something truly extraordinary. Take their professional photographers off the sidelines, and entrust their sports photography to a taxi driver, a town planner, a nurse, and a bank officer. 

Effectively every image became an ad for the α6000. And proved to the nation that despite being compact, it could not only foot it with the DSLRs it competes with, but in six hundredths of a second, could turn even the greenest photographer into a seasoned professional.
