manawatu standard

Based in Palmerston North, The Manawatu Standard serves the main Manawatu population catchment and parts of Rangitikei, southern Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa and Horowhenua provinces.

Established in 1880, the newspaper's emphasis, particularly on the front page, is on local coverage, because this is what makes the Manawatu Standard different to other print media available to our readers. Readership surveys have shown, however, that national and international news is also of high interest to Manawatu Standard readers, so the paper features these stories throughout the newspaper.
