We knew that the great kiwi pastime in the summer was to head to the beaches and relax at the bach. So we wanted to create a national awareness of our Deck out your Deck campaign, to drive foot fall in a typically busy time for Four Square.
Naturally this would also grow brand love.
Newspapers were chosen to leverage Four Square’s local associations, tapping into regional audiences as well as offering an over-arching urban presence.
43% of the campaign budget was allocated to print in order to reach the broad target market.
In print we were able to place the advertising alongside editorial focusing on Summer, lifestyle and well-being.

The campaign ran from Monday January 4th through to Sunday January 24th 2016 - reaching 1.8 million people through press alone.
By week three, 48% of the target had been reached and one third had seen the ad three times or more.
45,000 competition entries were received and the activity helped capitalize on seasonal trade with a year on year growth during this period.
